Born in Santarém – Brazil, the soprano Ana Carolina Coutinho began her singing career in 2007 at the age of 12, soloing in the children’s choir from “The shadows of time” from Henri Dutilleux with OSESP under the baton of John Neshling in Sala Sao Paulo. She studied baroque singing with Marilia Vargas and Nicolau de Figueiredo and did courses with Maria Cristina Kier, Rodrigo del Pozo and Jeffrey Skidmore in Curitiba early music festival. In 2018 she graduate her master’s program in Singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with professor Mark Tucker and this year she is coursing Konzertexamen. She has participated in masterclasses with Laurent Naouri, Eiko Senda, Xenia Mejer and recently with Margreet Honig, Roger Vignoles and Edith Mathis. In 2016 Ana Carolina was part of the "Weimarer Bach Woche" with Helmuth Rilling. With Chorakademie Lübeck she's been singing in projects as "Johannes Passion" "Carmina Burana" “Water Passion" and “Buddhas Passion”, under the baton of Rolf Beck, David Zinman, Helmuth Rilling, Stefan Weiler and Tan Dun. In the opera stage she has sung roles in productions as Serpina (La Serva Padrona), Frasquita (Carmen) Geraldine (A Hand of Bridge), Laetitia (The old maid and the thief) Mademoiselle Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor) and Walter (La Wally). This year she was invited for masterclasses and concerts in the „Schubert-Week“ in Pierre Boulez Saal and for the Lied Academy from the "Heidelberger Frühling Festival" under direction of Thomas Hampson. In February 2018 she was prize winner by Absalom - Stiftung Hamburg Mozart Competition. She is currently awardee from 'Oscar und Vera Ritter Sitftung' in Hamburg.
