British soprano Annie Loveday is a recent graduate of the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied with Scott Johnson. Prior to this she studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with soprano Jane Irwin where she gained a Master of Music in Vocal and Opera Studies.
In July Annie will make her debut as one of Surrey Art’s Emerging Artists performing the role of God of Health and Safety in the world premier of No Sound Ever Dies composed by Joanna Lee and directed by Lucy Bradley.
Her other operatic roles include Euridice in Les Malheurs d’Orphee, Mrs Julian in Owen Wingrave, (RCS) Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, (RNCM) and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin with Leeds Youth Opera. Roles for opera scenes have included Donna Elvira, Blanche de la Force, Ninette, (L’amour des Trois Oranges), Anna Reich and Hecuba (King Priam)
Highlights of this season include a recital at Stanford Hall for The Arts Society Northamptonshire and upcoming engagements include a series of concerts in Surrey and Northamptonshire.
Annie's oratorio repertoire includes Petite Messe Solenelle (Rossini) and Messiah (Handel). Annie particularly enjoys expressionist music and her concert repertoire includes Berg’s Sieben Fruhe Lieder and Prokofiev’s Five Poems of Anna Akhmatova. She has participated in masterclasses with Sir John Tomlinson and Kathryn Harries.
