Covered Covered & Performed Scenes Premiere of New Work Concert
Spanish lyric coloratura soprano Carla Satrústegui began studying music and playing piano in a small school in Pamplona at the age of five. Soon she joined the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Pablo Sarasate, where she studied violin for eight years with Javier Clemente. Carla also studied classical singing with Mercedes Gorría for five years and joined the ''Orfeón Pamplonés'' choir. After winning the ''Extraordinary End of Studies Prize'' in 2015, she moved to London. In July 2019, she will be graduating from her Bachelor Degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she is studying with Sarah Pring.
Concert appearances include performances at Auditorio Baluarte, Teatro Campoamor, Auditorio Nacional, Champs Elysées, Halle les Grains, Theatre Antique d'Orange, Royal Festival Hall or Royal Albert Hall. Carla has worked with several orchestras, such as London Philarmonia, London Symphony Orchestra and Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, and with conductors including Valery Gergiev, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Vladimir Jurowski, Michel Plasson, Igor Ijurra and Juanjo Mena.
Studies at Guildhall have included projects and masterclasses with Elizabeth McDonald, Ana Luisa Chova, Graham Johnson, Lada Valesova, Eugene Asti, Linnhe Robertson, Matteo Dalle Fratte or Sarah Walker. She recently received an offer for ''Guildhall Artist Masters'' with a financial award for 2019/2020. At the moment, Carla's studies at the Guildhall School are generously supported by ''Harry Rolfe Award'', ''Henry Wood Accommodation Trust'' and ''Artistas, Intérpretes y Ejecutantes''.
