Classics BA/Choral Scholarship
Clare College, Cambridge
2008–2011
All-round training
Royal Academy of Music (Junior Dept.)
2004–2008

Cressida was born in England in 1990. She studied through her teens at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, and went on to a Classics degree at Cambridge, training as a choral scholar under Timothy Brown while learning privately with Elizabeth Ritchie (LRAM, FRAM), who remains her teacher.

Her professional career began while still a student. Starting out in opera, she quickly added a particular interest in oratorio. She sings both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles, including the Zürcher Sing-Akademie, Vox Luminis, and Cappella Amsterdam. Her speciality is versatility: everything from medieval music to Bach to Romantic opera to the avant-garde composers of the twentieth century. Whether it calls for power, agility, purity or warmth, the centre of her performance is the story told by the music.
