Born in Segovia (Spain), prize winning dramatic mezzo-soprano Cristina del Barrio, awarded in "II Concorso lirico internazionale Teatro Besostri di Mede, 2016", possesses a voice of great quality, which she uses to magnetize the public. She graduated with honors from Musikene (University of Music of the Basque Country, Spain) with the soprano Ana María Sánchez, where she subsequently did a Master of Vocal Interpretation with the internationally renowned coach Maciej Pikulski. She presently continues her development with the respected American singing teacher Dale Fundling.
Acclaimed in Italy, Del Barrio has performed in the Headquarters "Amici del Loggione del Teatro alla Scala" and the "Teatro dal Verme" (Milan, Italy) next to the baritone Massimo Cavalletti . Between 2016 and 2017, she has debuted Fenena in Nabucco in "Teatro Talisio Tirinnanzi" (Legnano) and in "Teatro Besostri di Mede" (Pavia) and Maddalena in Rigoletto in the XXIII Festival "Sotto le stelle" (Pavía). Recently, she has interpreted Mercedes in Carmen joined by the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra (OSCyL) in the National Auditorium (Madrid). She has conducted by Miquel Ortega, Luis Celada, Javier Castro, José Antonio Francisco Moya, Gianluca Fasano, a.o.
She has acted in the most prestigious auditoriums and theatres in Spain with the Andrés Egiguren Orchestra (Guipuzcoa), Incanto in Musica Orchestra (Pavia), The Symphonic Orchestra from Ávila (OSAV), CDM's Symphonic Orchestra (Madrid), La Mancha's Philharmonic Orchestra (OFMAN), the Chamber Orchestra of Berlin Schlachtensee (Berlin). She has also performed in the first and second Festival of Barroque Music "Mueve Samamadrid", in the Cycle of Summer Concerts "Castillo de Manzanares el Real" and "Madrid Sacred Music Festival".
