Daniel Gray Bell, 23, is an English tenor from Christchurch, Dorset. He received his Bachelor of Music at the Royal College of Music (supported by the Charles Branchini Award) in London, under the tutelage of Justin Lavender. Daniel is currently pursuing a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music, under the continued tutelage of Justin Lavender. He is a Mason Scholar.

For 12 years, Daniel was a member of the Choir at the Priory Church, Christchurch, and was a member of the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus from 2014-2016. He was also a member of The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain from 2009-2015. He has performed in many venues with these and other organisations, including The Royal Albert Hall, The Sage, Gateshead, and The Lighthouse in Poole.

Oratorio work includes Händel's The Messiah, Händel’s Dixit Dominus, Stainer’s The Crucifixion, Haydn’s The Creation, Schütz’ Weihnachtshistorie, and Mozart's Requiem in D minor.

Daniel was part of the ensemble in the National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company’s 2019 tour, performing The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, The Yeoman of the Guard and the role of Francesco in The Gondoliers. Daniel has also performed in the chorus of both RCMIOS’ productions of Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoe and most recently Haydn’s comic opera Il mondo della luna.

Upcoming performances include Erster geharnischter Mann in RCMIOS' production of Die Zauberflöte this autumn. Daniel has also been cast as Oronte in the Saluzzo Opera Academy’s production of Alcina (Händel) this July, joining them in Italy for their 2021 opera program, where he will also be learning Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) as a role study.
