Biography

Danny Leclerc - Tenor

A native of the Quebec region, tenor Danny Leclerc stands out for his powerful voice. He has a rich and
nuanced voice, which knows how to convey emotions. In 2019, at the Festival Opéra de St-Eustache, he
created the roles of Jean and David, in the world premiere of the Opera Rabbi. A creation of Mr. Normand
Gasnier. Danny also performs chamber music. He has participated in numerous concerts and recitals.

In 2019, he was heard as a soloist in the All Verdi concert series at the Festival d’Opéra de Québec, in
Bach’s Cantata BWV 142 and in Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio with OperOttawa. In 2018, in I Capuleti e i
Montecchi for the Opéra Immédiat and in Carmen for the Opéra Café Concert. In 2017, in Boheme for
OperAmore and for the Orchestre à Vents de Montréal-Nord, in Opera through time at the Festival
International des Hautes-Laurentides, in 400 years of Opera at the Festival Music and Beyond and in
Madama Butterfly for the Opera Concert series. In 2016, in La Vie Parisienne for the Théatre lyrique de la
Montérégie, in Trois jeunes filles… nues for the Troupe Belle Lurette, in Il Tabarro and Les mamelles de
Tirésias for the Théâtre d'Art Lyrique de Laval and in Hamlet for the Opera By Request. He was also heard
in the North American premier of Titanic for the Opéra de Rimouski.

In 2018, Danny was also Romeo's understudy in Romeo and Juliet at the Opéra de Montréal. The same
year he also participated in the Montreal Fringe Festival for the Opera Outside the Box. He also shined in
Verdi's Requiem with the Chœur d'été de Montréal and for the FACE School. In addition, he was able to
stand out in Gilles Vigneault's Grand Mass and in Mozart's Requiem.

Like many, unfortunately some engagements have been canceled due to the pandemic. Engagements with
the Quebec Opera Festival for an All Puccini concert series, with Les Jongleur vocal ensemble for
Beethoven's Mass in C major and excerpts from Fidelio, as well as Handel's Messiah for OperOttawa.
