British Soprano Eleanor Sourbutts most recently graduated with top marks from the Conservatorio di Musica “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples, Italy with a Master’s in Operatic singing under the tuition of Anna Vandi (2018). She gained her Bachelor of Music from the University of Leeds (2015), spending her third year at ArtEZ Conservatorium in The Netherlands. She currently studies as a contract student at ArtEZ Conservatorium with Marjan Kuiper.
She has performed internationally in recitals with L’Associazione Mousikè, Galeria d’Italia (IT), University of Leeds international concert series and as a soloist with Mysterium Vocis, Le petite strà, Coro AMA (IT), Leeds Baroque Ensemble and EVA Vocaal Ensemble (NL).
An experienced choral singer, Eleanor joined her first choir when she was just 8 years old at the Staffordshire Music Centre. She has sung with The Clothworker’s Consort of Leeds, Leeds Baroque Choir, In Pace for Skipton Camerata, EVA Vocaal ensemble (NL) and Mysterium Vocis (IT). She performed as a chorus member for Opera Venture’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro (2013) and Leeds University Opera Society’s productions of The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan) and The Dragon of Wantely (J.F Lampe).
Eleanor made her opera debut in 2013 as La Fèe in Massenet’s Cendrillon and has since played roles like Kate from Yeoman of the Guard, Josephine from H.M.S Pinafore (Gilbert and Sulivan), and Erste Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned operatic singers such as Marcello Lippi, Margreet Honnig, Amand Hekkers, Marjan Kuiper and Romina Casucci.
