Eleanor Watts is a mezzosoprano and recent graduate of three years of postgraduate studies at the RNCM, studying with Mary Plazas. Previously, she studied at the University of Leeds with Marie Bodenham, taking a year abroad at the Conservatorio della Musica Superior in Salamanca, Spain. Previous roles include Madame de la Haltiere in Massenet’s Cendrillon at the RNCM, Mere Marie in Dialogue de les Carmelites, the Mother in Louise and Eloise in Bianca e Fernando as part of RNCM’s Opera Excerpts, as well as the Second Nursemaid in the RNCM’s production of Weill’s Street Scene. She has also featured as a soloist with the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra and in concerts in and around Greater Manchester and London. Concerts of note as a chamber and choral singer include Hans Zimmer’s 2017 World Tour at the Liverpool Echo Arena and the world premiere of Jonathan Dove’s The Wave at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Eleanor also studies the piano and accompanies other singers for lessons and private study, as well as local groups.
