Grace studied opera at the Associated Studios in London where she was coached by Jeremy Silver, Christopher Cowell, Robert Fried, David Edwards, William Relton, Mary Hill and Principal, Leontine Hass.
Originally from Bedfordshire, Grace attended the Crescent Academy for Performing Arts and went on to read Classics at King’s College London, taking lead roles in the annual King’s College Greek Play performed in ancient Greek. After moving to Dorset, she joined Wareham’s Rex Players – a group of variety performers who have raised over £60,000 for charity.
Grace made her classical/operatic debut at the Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival in 2015. On her return to the festival in 2016, she won first place in five classes, taking home the Dudley James Cup for Opera, Muriel Segal Cup for Lieder and Elizabeth Parkinson Cup for Oratorio.
After 13 years as a marketing and communications manager, Grace embarked on a professional singing career in 2014 under the tuition and guidance of Patricia Taylor. Since then she has received support from local businesses, arts organisations and a host of dear friends. She was awarded an artist development bursary from Purbeck Art Weeks and received an overwhelming response to an online Crowdfunder campaign, funding her studies at the Associated Studios.
Grace gained her first experience on the opera stage in the Dorset Opera Festival chorus in 2016 and covered Siébel in their production of Gounod’s Faust the following year. She regularly appears as a soloist with choirs including the Wessex Festival Singers, Wareham Choral Society and Purbeck Arts Choir.
Grace lives with her husband in a village close to the picturesque Jurassic Coast. Having rowed competitively for over 15 years, she enjoys sport and goes running in the Dorset countryside. She is also a trained ballroom and latin dancer and has competed at the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
