American soprano Karen Schriesheim is an exciting new talent in the recital and concert world. With a richly lyrical sound and an sensitive sense of for the dramatic, she colors her music with a warm, and unique sincerity that makes for consistently heartfelt and beautiful music-making.

Currently, Miss Schriesheim is working towards her masters' degree on the Vocal Studies course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studies with Yvonne Kenny. She has participated in masterclasses with Helen Donath, Edith Wiens and Susan McCullogh, and been a finalist in Guildhall's Schubert Competition.

Upcoming performances include recitals at Milton Court and St Stephen Walbrook in London, and her German debut as Suor Genovieffa in the Berlin Opera Academy's production of Suor Angelica. Other credits include Ersten Knäbchen in the 2014 Miami Summer Music Festival, where she also covered the role of Pamina. After winning the renowned 2013 District 7 National Association of Teachers for Singing classical competition, she was a soloist under the baton of Lorin Maazel at the 2013 Castleton Festival, as well as in numerous scenes and solo recitals across the United States.

Prior to the Guildhall, she studied with Sunny Joy Langton and Alan Darling at Northwestern University and earned degrees in opera performance and art history.
