The English tenor, Kieran White graduated from The Royal Academy of Music achieving a Masters with distinction. Whilst at the Academy he held a Kohn foundation scholarship as a soloist in the Bach Cantata Series.
Kieran has recently debuted as a soloist with Amsterdam Baroque in the Matthew Passion conducted by Ton Koopman and with John Eliott Gardner and Monteverdi Choir.
In 2018 toured Bach’s Johannes Passion with Ton Koopman and Amsterdam Baroque, performing across Europe, In 2017 toured Bach’s Matthäus – Passion.
He is particularly passionate about music from 17th and 18th Century, predominantly Bach’s Johannes & Matthäus Evangelists, recently performing in a number of venues across the United Kingdom and Europe.
He is an experienced Oratorio soloist and notably has performed Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium at Domkirken, Bergen, Bach’s Messe h-moll with Bristol Bach Choir, Monteverdi Vespers with Edvard Grieg Kor, Bergen, Rachmaninov Vespers with Bath Bach Choir and Johannes- Passion Arias in Sherborne Abbey.
During his two years at The Royal Academy he was involved in a wide range of projects including performances as a soloist in The Royal Academy of Music/Kohn Foundation Bach Series, appearing in a Tenor and Harp concert in which he performed the song cycle A Birthday Hansel by Benjamin Britten and appearing as the Sailor in a production of Dido & Aeneas under the direction of Michael Chance.
Kieran also enjoys performing on the operatic stage and is extremely interested in the French baroque repertoire for an Haute contre, he has performed the two leading roles of Renaud in Lully’s Armide and Hippolyte from Hippolyte e Aricie by Rameau. He has also performed the lead tenor in all five of the one act operas by Rossini, as a founding member with the opera company Raucous Rossini he has performed across Scotland, England and Italy.
Kieran can be seen regularly with leading ensembles including Amsterdam Baroque, London Philharmonia Chorus, Copenhagen Soloists, Edvard Grieg Kor and Monteverdi Choir.
Having left London in June Kieran is enjoying his life as a freelance tenor, he fills his time singing as a
soloist in numerous countries including Norway, Denmark, Holland and UK. When he is at home he can be seen working on his fathers farm and sometimes singing whilst getting the cows in.
When his schedule permits Kieran White works with the distinguished Haute Contre Tenor Jean-Paul Fouchécourt in Lyon on specific projects/roles.
