French mezzo-soprano Lauriane Tregan-Marcuz hails from Bordeaux and is a 30 year old graduate of the Jacobs School of Music having received a Performer's Diploma in Vocal Performance in the fall of 2019.
Born to a family of musicians, she first studied violin and music theory for 10 years in the Conservatoire of Bordeaux, France. At the age of 21, she studied singing with Lionel Sarrazin in Bordeaux and Marie-Ange Todorovitch in Switzerland. In the summer of 2017 she performed the role of Third Lady in "Magic Flute" with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Germany where met Professor Carlos Montané and decided to join his studio at Indiana University in the USA for the Fall 2018 semester. During her tenure at IU, she performed as a Blumenmädchen in Parsifal with the IU Opera Theatre in 2019. She also performed the role of Madame de Croissy in Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmélites" with the IUOT in October 2018. During her musical training with Lionel Sarrazin, Marie-Ange Todorovitch and Salvatore Caputo in France, she performed as the alto soloist in Mozart's "Requiem" and sang in the ensemble of Candide with The Glimmerglass Festival in Bordeaux in January 2017. She has performed extensively with the Opera Theatre de Bordeaux as well as several opera houses in Europe. She has lived in France, Germany and America, and speaks German, English and French fluently.
