Rising young Scottish tenor, Matthew Hamilton Healy, is a recent Masters graduate of the internationally renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Recognised for his distinct voice, stage presence and musicality, Matthew is both at home on the opera stage and concert platform.

During his studies at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Matthew appeared in a variety of opera productions, scenes and concerts including: the younger son in the UK premiere of Dead Man Walking (Heggie), the Mayor in Albert Herring (Britten), Capitaine Silvio in Le Docteur Miracle (Bizet), Gabriel von Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus (Strauss), Professor Parafaragrarmus in the UK premiere of Andrew Norman’s A Trip to the Moon, Piquillo in La Perichole (Bizet), Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Harasta in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and the Armed Guard in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.

Chorus work includes: Boys of Paradise by Vahan Salorian at The Rag Factory and Tête à Tête festival with WorkshOPERA, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama production of, On the 20th Century and most recently their world premiere of Julian Philips’, The Tale of Januarie.

As well as performing in opera Matthew has sung in a variety of concert/oratorio settings. This includes but is not limited to Purcell’s Ode to St. Cecilia, Mozart Requiem at the BBC Proms, Faust’s Szene aus Goethes at the Barbican, Paul Mealor’s Crucifixus and also Tippett’s, Child of Our Time.
