Melissa graduated in 2014 from King’s College London, where she studied Music. Whilst at university, she gained a place on the competitive Advanced Performance Studies course, for which she took lessons at the Royal Academy of Music. Since graduation she has worked mostly as a freelance singer and now studies with Alison Wells.
Melissa has sung in opera gala concerts with Aylesbury Opera and was an active member of King’s Opera. She has sung Nanetta in Verdi's Falstaff, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Mercedes in Carmen, the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, Suky Tawdry in Britten's The Beggar's Opera and one of the six women in Kurt Weill's The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. She sang the role of Le Prince charmant in Massenet's Cendrillon last summer in the Festi'Val de Musique Valois in Provence.
Melissa has given recitals around the country. A highlight of her solo career was singing the song cycle, Britten's A Charm of Lullabies, at the Wigmore Hall. Oratorio solos include: Handel’s Israel In Egypt, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Britten's A Ceremony of Carols and Vivaldi's Gloria at La Madeleine.
Melissa was a scholar in the prestigious King’s College London Chapel Choir and sings professionally as a choral deputy in numerous church choirs around London. Melissa also enjoys consort singing. Most recently she has become a member of the Gesualdo Consort of London.
