"Ralph Thomas Williams is a born communicator. He works hard on the text and manages to convey the meaning, regardless of which language he is singing in. This means that the body is well-motivated, producing a well-supported, well-crafted sound. This was particularly noticeable in his performances of scenes from Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Jeptha, both of which depend on good presentation and understanding of text. The amount of energy and excitement Ralph brings to a character is extremely impressive. It gives impetus to all the other singers, and to the production itself. This energy is particularly important when it comes to singing coloratura; something in which Ralph has improved immensely over the past year, and which bodes well for his future career as a baroque singer, and a Handelian of great potential." -Colin Baldy Artistic Directory at City Lit Opera School (2018)
[Ralph] certainly saved the best for the final. Terrific vocal quality with such power ... An exceptional and unusual voice; always attractive for the listener" -Panel final critique from Essex Young Musician of Essex 2018
"[Ralph]has an exceptional countertenor voice and has taken every opportunity to give well researched and practised performances... Ralph has always wanted to be an exponent of Baroque opera - I have no doubt that we will hear much of him in the future." -Penny Ryan OBE Soprano and Teacher
