Rebecca Barry is a mezzo soprano from Manchester. She is currently in her final year of Postgraduate studies at RNCM studying under Jane Irwin supported by the D’Oyly Carte Trust and Help Musicians UK.
Rebecca was a member of Junior RNCM and was generously supported by the Friends of the RNCM. Upon leaving JRNCM she was awarded The Helen Latto ‘Soroptimists’ prize for Singing and whilst at RNCM the winner of the James Martin Oncken Song Prize.
In 2016 she performed in the world premiere of David Blake and Keith Warner’s Icarus at Teatro Poliziano, Montepulciano under Roland Böer.
Highlights whilst at RNCM include performing the roles of Madame de la Haltiere in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Irene in Theodora, Léonie in Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne and performing Elgar’s Sea Pictures with the WSO.
Future engagements include performing the role of Hansel (under the direction of Stephen Medcalf and Anthony Kraus) at RNCM and covering the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the The Grange Festival 18.
