Soprano Sarah Parkin holds a PGDip and MMus from the Royal Northern College of Music, and a BMus from the University of Toronto. Recent roles include Sidonie (Armide) for Woodhouse Opera; Minerva (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring) for the RNCM; Diane (Actéon) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas), both for the Dartington International Summer School. She is a regular collaborator with new music company Born Mad, exploring electronic music and devising opera for companies such as Rough for Opera and the Helios Collective. Sarah is also the proud winner of the 2013 AESS Patricia Routledge Award for English Song. Most recently, she appeared in chorus and step-out roles with the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival for their 2014 and 2015 seasons, and is looking forward to returning to the chorus of Opera Holland Park for their 2017 Opera Festival.
Sarah lives and works from Northwest London, and studies privately with Yvonne Kenny.
