Helen was born in Keighley, West Yorkshire to Joseph Thomas and Alma Eunice Clough. Her father was a postman and her mother was a secretary. Helen’s father worked hard to pay for her lessons with her first teacher, Renee Shill. Then when Helen was old enough to be considered to train at a reputable music college, she auditioned and was accepted to study under Maureen Guy at “Welsh College of Music & Drama”. She graduated with Distinction and continued her studies in London when she joined “The Knack” course at “English National Opera”. Helen has enjoyed a varied career as can be seen from her C.V. Her hobbies include playing the trombone and competing in triathlons (although not at the same time!). In 2021, she completed the Outlaw Ironman Triathlon.
