Verdun Davies Award (Royal Academy of Music) (2013)

Hannah Bennett is a mezzo-soprano studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Kathleen Livingstone and Audrey Hyland. In September, she will be continuing her studies at the RAM on the postgraduate vocal course where she has been awarded a scholarship.
During her undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy, Hannah has performed at venues such as Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Holywell Music Room, The Peacock Theatre and the Duke's Hall at RAM. Projects have included: Sesto in King's Opera's production of Handel's Giulio Cesare in english, Berio's Folk Songs for mezzo soprano and seven instruments, Bridesmaids Chorus for Weber’s Der Freischütz conducted by Mark Elder with Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Tisbe in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with the London Young Sinfonia, conducted by Johann Von Stuckenbruck and directed by Mark Burns and was also in the chorus for British Youth Opera's 2015 Summer Season.
As a soloist, Hannah has performed recitals for the Amersham Music Festival, the Bedford Park Festival in Chiswick, summer recital series at St John's Church Stratford, St John's Leytonstone, St John's Church Boxmoor and at St James' Church, Paddinton. As a member of the prestigious Song Circle at RAM, Hannah has performed in many song recitals throughout London and further afield; including Brahm's Liebeslieder Waltzer and a selection of Brahms' songs at the Holywell Music Room for the Oxford Lieder Festival. Hannah performs frequently as a soloist for oratorio concerts and is a regular chorus member and soloist for the Kohn Foundation/Bach Cantata Series at the RAM.
Hannah is fortunate to be supported by the Verdun Davies Award at the Royal Academy of Music and the Josephine Baker Trust.
