Dutch tenor Leon van Liere studied with baritone Frans Huijts at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. After his graduation he studied with Raymond Modesti and currently he is coached by Brian Masuda and Rudolf Piernay. He received lessons from a.o. Roberta Alexander, Carolyn Watkinson, Marcel Reijans, Alexander Oliver and Dennis O'Neill.
He was a guest at the Dutch National Opera Academy, performing the roles of Il Podestà (La finta giardiniera, Mozart) and the Son (Less Truth, More Telling, Thierry Tidrow). Other roles include Ismael (Nabucco, Verdi), Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart) and Rodolfo (La Bohème, Puccini).

An active concert performer, Leon sang the tenor solo parts of a.o. Bach's St. Matthew's Passion and St. John's Passion, Messiah by Händel, The Creation and The Seasons by Haydn, the Requiem and various masses by Mozart, Elijah and Paul by Mendelssohn, Verdi's Requiem, Stabat Mater and Requiem by Dvorak and The Bells by Rachmaninoff.
