Born in London, England, Olivia Doutney is a young Swiss lyric soprano. She has a Master in Musical Performance (Singing) from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève where she studied in the class of noted professor Marcin Habela. Olivia is the winner of important bursary prizes from the Colette Mosetti Foundation (2017) and the Friedl Wald Foundation (2016). Recently Olivia appeared as a soloist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, performing the complex piece 'Sechs Lieder nach Gedichte von Georg Trakl' op.14 to great acclaim. She is delighted to appear with this orchestra again, singing the role of the Virgin Mary in Berlioz's epic oratorio 'L'Enfance du Christ' for Swiss television in 2018.

She has sung several operatic roles, recently the title role in Donizetti's 'Rita' (2016), the Countess Almaviva in Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro' (Féstival Nuit des Musées, Neuchâtel, 2016), Sidonie in Lully's 'Armide' (London Grimeborn Festival, 2017) and Isabelle in Campra's 'Fêtes Vénitiennes' (with singers and instrumentalists from HEM Genève at Théâtre Cité Bleue, Geneva, 2017). She has also sung roles such as Drusilla/Fortuna in 'L'Incoronazione di Poppea' (Woodhouse Opera Festival, 2015) and Giulietta in 'I Capuleti e i Montecchi' (Microscopera, 2015). She sings in many gala concerts, for example for the Festival l'Incident Lyrique in 2017 in Paris, France. This year she will make her debut as a soloist in an opera house, in the role of Ursuline in Saint-Saëns' 'Ascanio'.

Dedicated to lied as well as to opera, Olivia gives many recitals, notably with her lied-duo partner Arthur Simoes at the piano. The duo perform a great deal in Switzerland: recently, for example, a recital for the festival 'Schubertiade sur la Colline' in Neuchâtel, as well as a live recording of the cycle 'Four Songs Op.13' by Samuel Barber for Espace 2 (Swiss radio).
