Full lyric soprano Monica Toll is a member of the chorus of Scottish Opera. Productions with the company include Tchaikovsy’s ‘Eugene Onegin’ and Puccini’s ‘Edgar’. Monica recently performed the role of Micaela in Heritage Opera’s 2018 tour of Bizet’s ‘Carmen’. She has been performing in principle roles with Edinburgh Studio Opera since 2014. Highlights include Micaela (Carmen), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), First Lady (Die Zauerflöte).

On the concert platform her solo highlights include: Debussy’s ‘Le Livre de Baudelaire’ with RNCM Symphony Orchestra and Mark Heron, Handel’s Messiah with The East Riding county choir and orchestra, Requiem (Brahms) with The Pentland Singers, Coronation Mass (Mozart), Lord Nelson Mass (Haydn), Elijah (Mendelssohn) and Mozart’s Requiem.
Monica also enjoyed her first experience of singing Wagner with Orchestra in 2018, singing Isolde’s ‘Transfiguration Scene’ with Mark Heron and the Nottingham Philharmonic in Southwell Minster.

Monica placed first in the inaugural ‘Isobel Buchanan Singing Competition’ in winter 2018. She was a finalist in both the RNCM’s 2018 ‘Concerto Competitionr’ and the 2017 ‘Wagner Society Singing Competition’.

Upcoming performances include Mimi in Puccini’s ‘La Boheme’ with Paisley Opera, chorus in Mascagni’s Silvano and Puccini’s Tosca with Scottish Opera.
