Samuel has played various operatic roles, including Bob Beckett in HMS Pinafore for Silk Opera, Geroge Jones in Kurt Weill's Street Scene, and most recently Bobinet in the RNCM's 2016 production of Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne. As part of his college studies Samuel has also sung in various opera excerpts at the RNCM, most notably as Marcello in Puccini's La Boheme, Guglielmo in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and the title role in Act I of R. Vaughan Williams' The Pilgrim's Progress. Samuel will be appearing at the Buxton International Festival in July 2018 as a member of the Festival's Young Artist Programme.
Oratorio experience includes Coronation Mass (Mozart), The Seasons (Haydn) and In Terra Pax (Finzi) with The Lancaster singers; two masses by Michael Haydn with Warrington choral society; and Beethoven's Choral Fantasy alongside the RNCM Chamber Choir. Recent engagements include Dvorak's Stabat Mater for Ramsbottom Choral Society & Orchestra, and Bach's St John Passion with Warrington & Bewdley Choral Societies. Samuel is also a keen recitalist, offering wide-ranging programmes of voice and piano repertoire. He is looking forward to various recital engagements in the coming months.
Samuel is also an experienced teacher. He is currently working as the peripatetic vocal teacher at Congleton High School, Cheshire, as well as teaching private pupils of all ages.
