ITALIAN AUDITION PACKAGE MASTERCLASS: April 18-22, 2025 in Nardo', Puglia, Italy

Are you a singer looking to refine your Italian audition package with professionals from the Italian industry? This is your opportunity to work with award winning Soprano Nila Masala, who have sang in Italy's major Italian opera houses, including the Puccini festival at Torre del Lago, and Massimo Modoni, a vocal coach and expert in the Italian, Verismo, and Bel Canto repertoire.

This masterclass is designed for 8 young professional singers and répétiteurs, culminating in an Opera Gala performance on April 22nd at 19:00 AM in the picturesque 16th century Carmelitani Cloister in the historical town of Nardo', Italy.

Each participant will receive one hour of daily coaching with Nila and Massimo, focusing on an operatic scene of their choice or four arias of their choice:

  • three piece from the 19th-century tradition
  • one optional from either the 18th or 20th century

    Sessions will emphasize vocal technique, language, stylistics of Italian bel canto, and the relationship between repetiteur and singer. Each répétiteur will be assigned to up to 4 singers, based on the panel’s discretion.

    To fully immerse in the Italian Dolce VIta, on April 20th the partecipants will enjoy a festive traditional Italian Easter meal together at the Family Home of our Founder Massimo, and then a stroll to the local beach town of Santa Caterina di Nardo’ one of the jewels of the Italian Southern Coastline.

    SCHOLARSHIP & APPLICATION DETAILS:
    The Accademia dell’Opera Italiana (AOI) is pleased to offer two scholarships for outstanding young artists under the age of 28. Recipients will be selected by Maestra Masala and Maestro Modoni during the audition process.

  • Two contrasting arias (recently recorded YouTube links, at least one in Italian)
