From 19 – 30 August 2026, The Grand in Folkestone will host the second Tosti International Singing Academy. An Academy set up to help and promote emerging into the industry singers and excellent conservatoire singers, where they will meet remarkable song and opera practitioners, with important positions throughout the music industry internationally.

The Academy will include:

  • Daily Vocal Instruction: Personalised lessons from Matthew Rose, Dame Sarah Connolly, Kate Royal, Gyula Orendt, David Butt Philip and Jennifer Larmore.
  • Masterclasses: Exclusive public sessions with acclaimed artists such as Sir Thomas Allen, Ben Glassberg, Dame Sarah Connolly and others
  • Collaborative Performances: Opportunities to work with distinguished song pianists Bénédicte Jourdois (The Metropolitan Opera, The Juilliard School and New York Festival of Song), Sholto Kynoch (Oxford International Song Festival), and Iain Burnside in intimate public recitals.
  • One on one coaching with great masters: Guidance from guest coaches, including Vlad Iftinca (Opera Studio Stuttgart), Adrian Kelly (Director, Opera Studio Zürich), Jonathan Papp (Solti Academy), Caroline Dowdle (Verbier Festival Academy, Jette Parker YAP), Ben Glassberg, Yuiy Ilinov (Berlin Staatsoper), Richard Stokes and John Fisher (WNO and Met).
  • Opera Scenes: Exploration of opera scenes with internationally renowned director Louisa Muller and conductor Paul Daniel.
  • Professional Development: Industry discussion with Maria Mot, Isla Mundell Perkins, Ben Glassberg, Brian Dickie, Adrian Kelly, David Butt Philip and Gyula Orendt. Also tenor and prolific casting advisor David Lomeli will be in residence for several days.

    Please supply two videos, one of an opera aria and one of an art song. Please also supply a letter of reference and an CV.
