Audition requirements
Singers: 2 contrasting opera arias in different languages & styles
Pianists, conductors and stage directors: 2 reference letters
Scholarship & stipend: All accepted participants will have their tuition fees ($5,000 CAD) covered by scholarship and will receive a $1,000 CAD stipend before December 31, 2026.
Confirmation fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $300 CAD will be required for all participants to prevent last-minute cancellations and cover any recruitment inconveniences that may follow.
Accommodation, transportation and meals are the responsibility of the participants. However, our team is working on partnerships with potential host families for international students.

The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute is an intensive summer program offering high caliber training and exceptional performance opportunities to emerging professional opera singers from around the world, as well as collaborative pianists, conductors and stage directors.
The 21st edition, held in Montreal, Canada will offer:
Opera Production with Orchestre de la Francophonie conducted by Julien Proulx and staged by Nathalie Deschamps
“The Audition”: Broadcast event showcasing each singer in aria performance with symphony orchestra
Numerous opera galas with piano and/or instrumental ensembles
Private voice lessons and coachings with outstanding world-class faculty
Public masterclasses
Professional audio and video recordings of performances to use for your portfolio
Professional headshots session and individual career management guidance
Workshops on performance anxiety, acting, speech therapy, social media and community outreach.
