Aimee Kearney is an Irish operatic soprano, currently studying with Virginia Kerr. She is a recent graduate of The Royal Irish Academy of Music, receiving a first-class honours in vocal performance. Aimee is a frequent soloist in Oratorio and Sacred music, as well as in opera and recitals.

Aimee has starred in leading and supporting roles in operas in Ireland and abroad, including ‘Dominic the prince’ in Elisabeth Maconchy’s The Sofa, (RIAM), ‘Suor Genovieffa’ in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Berlin Opera Academy) and ‘Sandmann’ in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel (Lyric Opera Ireland).

Aimee has given solo recitals in music festivals around Ireland, including Killaloe Music Festival and The Charles Wood Festival of Music. Aimee has enjoyed performing as a soloist in some of Ireland’s most prestigious venues, including The Hugh Lane Gallery, Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, The National Concert Hall, The University Concert Hall, Limerick and the Mansion House, Dublin. Most recently, she performed as Soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus and Bach’s Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland with the Goethe Choir in the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Aimee is a frequent competition finalist and winner in the UK and Ireland. She was the winner of the Irene Sandford Award for singers 2021 and winner of the aria prize in the same competition. She was awarded the Irish Prize in the Charles Wood International song competition and the audience prize in the Dean and Chadlington singing competition. She is a multiple prize winner in Dublin’s prestigious Feis Ceoil, including the Plunkett Greene, The German Government Cup and the Young Cup. She was also a finalist in the Dramatic Cup and the Gervase Elwas Memorial Cup.

Aimee has taken part in masterclasses with some of the leading teachers and coaches in Opera, including Brenda Hurley, Carola Guber, Orla Boylan and Paul McNamara.
