Amber Leigh Dixon – Lyric Coloratura Soprano
London-based Irish soprano Amber Leigh Dixon is known for her radiant tone, musical sensitivity, and vibrant stage presence. A current Vocal Studies Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, she studies with Raymond Connell and is generously supported by Help Musicians UK.
Amber’s recent operatic roles include Miss Wingrave in Britten’s Owen Wingrave, Isabella in Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot, and Zerlina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Royal Academy of Music. She also appeared as Speck in Pablo Martinez’s Peel at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival, and performed in productions of Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with Royal Academy Opera.
Equally at home on the concert platform, Amber has appeared as a soprano soloist in Handel’s Dixit Dominus, The Messiah, and Mozart’s Requiem, with ensembles including the UCD Choral Scholars, Irish Baroque Orchestra, and Blackrock Choral Society. As a BBC Radio 3 Evensong soloist with Genesis Sixteen under Harry Christophers, she has developed a reputation for clarity of expression and stylistic finesse across both sacred and secular repertoire.
Amber holds a First Class Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from University College Dublin, where she sang with the UCD Choral Scholars. Earlier training included work with Sestina, the Ulster Youth Chamber Choir, and teachers Mary Brennan and Mark Chambers.
With a voice described as both agile and luminous, Amber continues to explore a wide range of repertoire from Baroque to contemporary opera. Her artistry reflects a deep commitment to expressive storytelling and an evolving curiosity for new music and collaboration.
