Covered Covered & Performed Scenes Premiere of New Work Concert
Having moved to England in 2015, Brazilian baritone André Andrade is a former student of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He currently studies under the tutelage of Robert Dean.
Roles performed by André include Ottokar (Blackheath Halls’ Der Freischütz), Leporello (Hornton Chamber Orchestra’s Don Giovanni in concert), Surgeon (Stephen McNeff’s new opera Banished, especially composed for Trinity Laban's Summer Opera) and Mr. Gobineau (Clockwork Opera’s The Medium). He also sang in the chorus of OperaGlass Works’ recent production of The Rake’s Progress at Wilton’s Music Hall, understudied the role of Barnaba for Midsummer Opera’s La Gioconda and was bass chorus leader in Blackheath Halls’ Carmen. He was bass soloist in Mozart’s Requiem at St Mary’s Parish Church Battersea.
André participated in Opera Foundry’s “German Opera” summer concert performing the roles of Don Pizarro (Fidelio) and Sachs (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg). In OperaCoast’s concert “The Old Tales of Kitezh Grad”, he performed a selection of Russian arias and ensembles by Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. He has also performed scenes as Leporello and as Eugene Onegin in Trinity Laban’s Opera Scenes, as Count Rodolfo and Figaro at Morley Opera School, and as Figaro with Opera Integra.
André will soon be performing the role of Nabucco with Brent Opera and will participate in Opera Foundry’s winter concert “Tchaikovsky, Rossini and Mozart” performing scenes from Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro.
