Angharad is a soprano from South Wales who has avidly been involved with music from a young age. She is a passionate performer enthusiastic about opera, art song and always relishes performing traditional Welsh music.
Opera roles have included Mrs Anna Maurrant (Street Scene Cover show, RWCMD), Mrs Hildebrand (Street Scene, RWCMD), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, RWCMD Opera scenes), Calli (Pandora’s Locker, RWCMD/WNO/ Sinfonia Cymru), Josephine (HMS Pinafore, Messmate Opera), Henry King (Doctor Ferret’s Bad Medicine Show, RWCMD), and Lucy (The Telephone, UWCAC Chamber Opera). Angharad has appeared as a chorus member in Semele (MidWales Opera/ RWCMD), Le Nozze di Figaro (RWCMD), Orpheus in the Underworld (Opera’r Ddriag), Macbeth (RWCMD Postgraduate scenes) and The Sleeper (WNYO).
Angharad has appeared as soprano soloist with the British Sinfonietta, Cor Bro Ogwr, Athenaeum Singers, Reading Festival Chorus,Cwmbran Male Voice Choir, Cwmbach Male Voice Choir, and Colstars Operatic Society to name a few; performing works such as Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's The Seasons, Vivaldi's Gloria and Karl Jenkins Stabat Mater. She toured to the Isle of Skye with Island Opera and sang as a member of the BBC Proms Youth Choir in their performance of Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle.
Angharad performs regularly in weddings, functions and corporate events as a soloist but also with her chamber music group, the Hiraeth Ensemble, a harp and voice trio.
Angharad graduated from the RWCMD with a Bmus (hons) degree in 2015, and graduated achieving a distinction for the postgraduate diploma (PgDip). Angharad was also awarded the Mansel Thomas Memorial Award for Music during her postgraduate study.
