What a Fantastic Evening. A totally professional performance of the highest standard from everyone involved. I heard 'The Bear' once before in 2005 at Covent Garden. Tonight's performance outshone CG easily. I would love to hear it again as I am sure would everyone else present. - Tim Walton (2019)
"We have received much from both choir and audience about the fine quality of your voice and how it really suited the piece. It is one of Rutter’s more difficult pieces to perform, but you handled it with aplomb!" (2018)
Annie George graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s ‘David Seligman Opera School’ with a MA Advanced Opera Performance with Distinction in 2021. Previously, she studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree in 2019.
She continues her studies privately with Sarah Pring.
Professionally, Annie has sung for the National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, Arcadian Opera, Dorset Opera and Opera Holland Park.
Her roles whilst studying include the titular character in Britten’s cantata Phaedra (RWCMD), Mrs. Grose in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw (RWCMD), Madame Flora in Menotti’s The Medium (RWCMD), Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (RWCMD), Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (RWCMD), Zweite Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote (RBC), Mrs Peachum in Britten/Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera (RBC) and Sally in A Hand of Bridge (RBC.)
