American Mezzo-Soprano Ariana Gibbard, hailing from Boulder, Colorado, is known for her sensual, colorful voice and thrilling stage presence. Roles currently in preparation since her recent shift to mezzo-soprano include Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Carmen (Carmen), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), and Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito).

In her previous stage experience singing spinto soprano, her credits included Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival and partial roles of Donna Leonora (La Forza del Destino) and Alice Ford in (Falstaff) at the San Miguel Institute of Bel Canto.

Oratorio and concert highlights include performances with Centennial Ballet in Carmina Burana and performances with Boulder Opera. Ms. Gibbard is passionate about premiering new works and working with contemporary composers, and has worked with closely with composers such as Libby Larsen in “A Wrinkle in Time” through the CU New Opera Workshop.

​Ms Gibbard graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she performed as Musetta in “La Boheme” and won first prize three years in a row at the regional National Teachers of Singing Competition, as well as the Anderson Scholarship Competition. She currently lives in Berlin, Germany, and speaks German, French, Italian, and English
