Avi Green is an American-Israeli Mezzo-Soprano based in London. Avi’s repertoire includes roles such as Charlotte (Werther - Massenet), Dido (Dido and Aneas- Purcell), and Katerina (Die Widerspenstige Zähmung - Goetz). She is currently looking forward to debuting as Baba the Bearded Turk (The Rake’s Progress - Stravinsky) at the Royal Academy of Music’s summer opera scenes. Avi began her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in 2018 after transferring from independent study in New York City with renowned voice teacher David L. Jones. Before that she began her studies at the Conservatorium Maastricht, where she participated in many concerts and also started an Open Concert series to help create more performance opportunities for students.

In addition to her singing, Avi is very passionate about making opera accessible to audiences new and old. She runs a YouTube Channel (Avi Green) sharing her experiences and love of opera through synopses, fun facts, and composer insights, hosting the occasional guest. The YouTube channel has been supported by the Royal Academy of Music and was among the first projects showcased on the Academy’s crowdfunding initiative, SoundCrowd. Avi also co-hosts a podcast (AA Opera) geared towards answering young singers’ most burning questions about life as a professional opera singer.
