The French and Italian Mezzo-Soprano Beatrice Nani was born in Milan. She studied at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne, Switzerland from 2014 to 2019 with Brigitte Balleys. In 2019 she obtained her Master’s degree. Since then, she has been working with Marie-Ange Todorovitch and Jeanne-Michele Charbonnet. She also had the chance to study with great pedagogues and singers such as Nadine Denize, Yann Beuron, Bruno de Simone, Alessandra Rossi or Alexia Cousin. Passionate about theatre, she has worked with Gaëlle Bourgeois and Fiona Chauvin in Paris as well as with Thierry Pillon, Jean-Yves Ruf and Shin Iglesias.
She won the third prize at the Béziers international singing competition and the Léopold Bellan competition in Paris. She also was awarded the National Opera Cluj Napoca prize at the Enesco singing competition in Paris.
She performed in Bouche à Bouche (Maurice Yvain) at the Théâtre Déjazet in Paris, and sang the Bottesini’s Requiem at the Victoria Hall in Geneva. She made her debut in Geneva in 2016 and created the role of Ella Maillart in the contemporary opera le Ruisseau Noir written by Guy-François Leuenberger at the Grütli Theater, and in 2017 played Loïs in Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate. Since 2017 she has performed various roles at the Opera de Lausanne: Cricri in Le chanteur de Mexico (Lopez) in 2017, Armelinde in Cendrillon (Pauline Viardot) in 2018, the Duchesse Totoche in Les Chevaliers de la Table Ronde (Hervé) in 2019, Odette in Dédé (Christiné) in 2021 and Paquette in Candide (Bernstein) in 2022. In 2021, she sang the mother in the contemporary Opera Le Chaperon Rouge by Guy-François Leuenberger at the Tours’ Opera in France. In 2022 she toured in Switzerland making her debut as Carmen (Bizet) with the Swiss company InTemplo.
During the 2023/2024 season she will sing the alto solo part in the Misa Tango (Palmeri), she will be Mercedes in Carmen (Bizet), Venus in Orphée aux enfers (Offenbach), the Third Lady in die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Dido in Dido and Æneas (Purcell) and she’ll sing a Slam/Opera recital with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra.
