Canadian Soprano Brittany King made her debut with TORONTO OPERETTA THEATRE as Pitti-Sing in Gilbert & Sullivans' THE MIKADO. Other roles include Blanche from Poulenc’s DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES, First Touriere in SUOR ANGELICA/Puccini (Opera NUOVA) and from opera excerpts, OCTAVIA in L’incoronazione di Poppea/Monteverdi & Alexandra from REGINA/ Blitzstein. Solo symphonic performances include CARMINA BURANA with Wilfrid Laurier University & MOTUS O Company, SYMPHONY No.3/ Gorecki with Waterloo Collegiate Institute String Orchestra, and guest soloist with the Durham Philharmonic Choir, Nuance, and Manitoba Opera House. Brittany won the Concerto Competition at Laurier, and was a scholarship winner in the Lois Marshall Competition, Ontario Zone Competition, Keith Knights Memorial Scholarship and was Honourable Mention at the Ontario Kiwanis Provincials. An Honours Bachelor of Music graduate from Wilfrid Laurier, Brittany also holds a diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in voice and piano and attended the Post-Bachelor Artist Program at the University of Manitoba studying with Tracy Dahl & Monica Huissman. Brittany continues to perform within the Toronto region, and is a regular soloist with the Durham Philharmonic Choir & Orchestra. She has also performed with the Elgar Baroque Singers, which marked her first engagement within the United Kingdom.
