Toronto born Chantelle Grant made her Teatro Grattacielo debut premiering the role of Black Hattie at the prestigious LaMaMa Eileen Stewart theatre in June of 2025 to glowing reviews. Chantelle’s 2024/2025 season will conclude in August as she reprises the role of Grimgerde in Die Walküre and signs Erda in Siegfried for the TUNDI 2025 Ring Cycle. In June of 2025 Chantelle made her Carnegie Hall debut with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Other highlights of Chantelle’s season included a debut with Seattle Opera production in the production of X: The life and times of Malcolm X.
Chantelle looks forward to returning to the Metropolitan Opera and making her Houston Grand Opera debut in the 2025/2026 season. In 2022 Chantelle was a member of the cast of the opera X: The Life And Times Of Malcolm X in both the Detroit Opera and Opera Omaha productions. Chantelle was one the finalists in the Voice of Black Opera Competition representing Canada in the UK. Chantelle Grant made her solo debut with City Lyric Opera in The Medium and Riverside Opera Company in 2019. Ms Grant has had the pleasure of singing with Trilogy: An Opera Company as Erda in Wagner’s Siegfried, Waltraute in Götterdämmerung, and Monisha in Joplin’s Treemonisha.
Chantelle has worked with outstanding maestri such as Joseph Colaneri, Steven White, Timothy Myers, and Peter Oundjian. Ms. Grant has performed on such illustrious programmes as the American Song Book series at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Metropolitan Opera summer concerts in Damrosch Park.
Currently a student of Bill Schuman, Ms Grant holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Windsor, an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould Professional School and a Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes College. Chantelle Grant has had the honour of studying with operatic legends Martina Arroyo, Regina Resnik, Jane Eaglen, and Christine Goerke.
