Staffordshire-born soprano, Charlotte Derry is noted for having a warm lyrical voice and an engaging performance persona.
Charlotte has a master's degree from the Royal Academy of Music studying with Phil Doghan. After the Academy Charlotte studied privately with the late Ameral Gunson and is now learning with Liz Harley.
Her recent operatic performances include Rusalka, performing the title role by Dvořák with Harrow Opera (2018), Guilietta in The Tales of Hoffman by Offenbach with Harrow Opera (2017), Gretel in Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck with Secret Opera (2016), Vierte Magd/schleptragerin in Elektra by Strauss with London Opera Players (2014 & 2015), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Weimar Lyric Opera Studio (2013), Second Woman (cover) in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart for Ryedale Festival (2013), Mařenka in The Bartered Bride with London Youth Opera (2012), soprano soloist in the Coro di Ragazzi in Linda di Chamounix at the Royal Opera House, in the Main Auditorium, conducted by Sir Mark Elder (2009).
Charlotte sings regularly as a soloist in oratorio performances. Her most recent concerts include, A Sea Symphony by Vaughan Williams with Whetherby Choral Society and Orchestra, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms with Kingston Orpheus Choir and Missa Angelorum by Rütti at St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Charlotte frequently gives solo recitals and concerts across London, recent venues include Charlton House, St Olave’s Church, Hart Street and the Royal Naval College Chapel in Greenwich.
