Charlotte read history at Bristol University before converting to law after her undergraduate degree. She has since trained and qualified as a lawyer at Linklaters LLP, specialising in financial regulation. She began her singing training on the MMus course at the Royal Northern College of Music and continues this year on the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma course, studying under Sarah Rhodes. Whilst at the RNCM Charlotte has received the Dame Eva Turner Award and was a finalist in the 2015 Frederic Cox Award for singing. She has also played the soprano trio role in the student production of Trouble in Tahiti. Operatic roles have included Drusilla (L'incoronazione di Poppea) for Longborough Festival Opera Young Artists/Barefoot Opera Young Artists and the roles of Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore) and Frasquita (Carmen) for Barefoot Opera Young Artists as well as Governess (Turn of the Screw) for Manchester Opera Ensemble and Greta Fiorentino (Streetscene) for RNCM opera. Charlotte is also a keen concert performer and is looking forward to her debut in May at the Wigmore Hall as the soloist in Harrison Birtwistle’s The Woman and the Hare. In pursuing her studies at the RNCM Charlotte is very grateful for the support of the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.
