Chloe Latchmore is a mezzo soprano currently studying in her first year of the opera course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Yvonne Kenny and Janice Chapman. Here she is kindly fully supported by the Fishmonger's Guild. Last year she was also the recipient of a Help Musicians Postgraduate Award and was the Behrens Foundation Scholar. She has a first class Bachelor of Music degree from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she was also the recipient of the Eunice Pettigrew prize for singing.

In the past year Chloe has performed the roles of Concepción (L'heure Espagnole), Béatrice (Béatrice et Bénédict), Nerone (L'incoronazione di Poppea), Sesto (La Clemenza di Titio), Kate Julian (Owen Wingrave), Carmen, Lucretia (Rape of Lucretia) and Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier) as part of the Guildhall School opera scenes. She has also covered the role of Marta in the opera school's production of Tchaikovsky's 'Iolanta' and the combined roles of Rosina/Mandrake/Signorina Fruili in the premiere of Julian Phillips' 'The Tale of Januarie'. At the Royal Northern College of Music she performed the role of Hippolyta in their production of Britten's 'Midsummer Night's Dream'. Last season she also made her debut with Opera Holland Park as part of their chorus in 'Die Fledermaus' and 'La Cenerentola'.

Chloe is passionate about song repertoire and has performed in both the Barbican Hall and the Wigmore Hall. These performances included a recital of Sibelius song as part of the pre-LSO concert series and a world premiere of Jack Sheen's I Klaleidoscope. She was also soloist in a concert of Berio's Folksongs, conducted by Elim Chan as part of another Pre-LSO concert.
She was selected to attend a Master-course with Anne Sophie von Otter on the Interpretation of Song as part of the Schymberg masterclass series in Sweden. She has also performed in song masterclasses with Sarah Connolly, Julius Drake, Ian Burnside and Anthony Spiri.

Chloe has appeared as a soloist for several choral and oratorio works including Angel in Elgar’s 'Dream of Gerontius' (LSO St Luke’s), Rossini’s 'Stabat Mater', Schubert’s 'Mass in B flat', Beethoven’s 'Symphony No. 9' (Ely Choral Society, Ely Cathedral) and Handel’s 'Messiah' (Rotherham Choral Society). She appeared at the Zenarruza Sacred Music Festival in Spain performing as the alto soloist in Michael Haydn’s 'Requiem in C Minor' and Vivaldi’s 'Gloria'.

Next year Chloe is looking forward to taking on the roles of Mother in Menotti's 'The Consul' and Mere Marie in Poulenc's 'Dialogues des Carmélites' in the Guildhall Opera Schools forthcoming opera productions.
