Konstantinos Akritides is a Greek-born operatic tenor with a deep musical sensitivity and a profound ardour for sharing his craft with his audience. His journey unfolds as he undertakes intensive studies at the illustrious Royal Academy of Music, guided by the seasoned expertise of mentors Susan Waters and Iain Ledingham.

He has been featured in recitals at various locations throughout Europe, such as Santa Lucia del Mela, San Paolo Fuori le Mura, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, St John's Fulham, Duomo di Messina, St Peter's Basilica, and the Royal Academy of Music.

During his time in Greece, he rendered the tenor solo part in the historic inaugural panhellenic performance of Saint-Saëns's Requiem, skillfully conducted by Karolos Trikolidis. Moreover, Konstantinos flourishes as a choral scholar under the esteemed tutelage of Robert Greenhill at St John's Hyde Park, where his repertoire spans a diverse range of choral and operatic compositions. His vocal prowess has carried him on tours throughout Italy, including a performance within the venerable confines of St Peter's Basilica. He garnered acclaim by emerging victorious in an esteemed international choral competition orchestrated by the International Choral Federation and was given the opportunity to perform at the Pantheon in Rome.

In 2023, a pivotal year in his artistic upbringing, Konstantinos took center stage at the Royal Academy of Music’s opera scenes, embodying the role of Rodolfo in a scintillating excerpt from Puccini’s magnum opus, "La Bohème," masterfully conducted by Peter Robinson and skilfully directed by Adam Torrance. His artistic collaborations also extend to the accomplished Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, where he performed Messiaen's "La mort du nombre”, alongside virtuoso pianist Tom Poster. Additionally, he undertook the tenor solo part in Gounod’s "Messe solennelle de Sainte Cécile," directed by Ian Kennedy.

Konstantinos’s repertoire spans an extensive assortment of genres. Recent performances include his participation in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony as the tenor soloist, under the baton of Nickolai Podvin, at the Royal Academy of Music, and an opera masterclass in Hungary where he performed scenes from Rigoletto, as the Duke, and from Maria di Rohan, as Chalais. In parallel, he has sought to refine his craft by engaging in enriching masterclasses with the prominent John Mark Ainsley in London and an international opera masterclass under the tutelage of Dr. Marianna Varadi. A summer of operatic concerts in Italy and Sicily complemented the summer period, including performances in Cinque Terre - Monterosso, with the illustrious Iain Ledingham.

Recent concerts and appearances include Konstantinos’s reappearance on the stage at the Royal Academy of Music opera scenes, embodying the role of Fritz and delivering a mesmerizing rendition of the “Cherry Duet” from Mascagni’s "L’ amico Fritz," deftly conducted by Christopher White. The autumn period began with Konstantinos’s participation in “An Autumn Romance”, organised by the Musicians of London, where he will be performing Brahms quartets and Clara Schumann song, accompanied by the talented Julia Klimek.

The winter season started with a performance of J.S. Bach’s “Suede zu, dass deine Gottesfurcht nicht Heuchelei sei” BWV 179 and the Magnificat BWV 243 under the baton of Iain Ledingham. In January, Konstantinos will be performing one of the two main roles, Jordan, in the premiere of Toby Anderson’s opera “Satyrs”. In February, he embodied the roles of Don Jose from Carmen and the title role from Gounod's Werther as part of the academy's RAO scenes. Later on in the year, the Truro Choral Society welcomed him to Cornwall for a performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. He was then chosen to sing for Freddie di Tomasso as part of a Masterclass at the academy.

During the summer, Konstantinos embodied the role of Puccini in Clonter Opera’s newly commissioned production, “The Butterfly House”. Right before his Cheshire expeditions, he participated in the Academy Voices - Opera Gala on the 28th of June. In September, Konstantinos will be joining Royal Academy Opera, while continuing his vocal training with Susan Waters and the coaching of Chris Hopkins. His first role as part of the company will be “Die Knusperhexe” in Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel in November 2024.
