Elizabete Laura Porgante is a passionate new opera singer currently pursuing a Master’s degree in opera singing at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music under the guidance of Associate Professor Andžella Goba. During her undergraduate studies, she expanded her expertise at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito di Parma as part of the European Opera Academy program, focusing on Opera Buffa.

Elizabete’s formal music education began at the Riga Cathedral Choir School, where she earned a diploma in academic singing and choral conducting. She has also trained extensively in choir singing and conducting at the Music School of Augusts Dombrovskis. These experiences laid a solid foundation for her artistic growth.

Her professional performance career includes being a soprano singer and soloist with the renowned Riga Chamber Choir “Ave Sol” and a member of the vocal a cappella group “The Garden.” Additionally, she has served as a vocal pedagogue, teaching children and amateur choirs.

Elizabete’s dedication to vocal mastery has been enhanced by participation in prestigious masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artists, including Marina Rebeka, Cornelia Beskow, Bo Rosenkull, Manuela Uhl, Mati Turi, Gábor Bartinai, Toril Carlsen, Ulrike Sonntag, and many others. These opportunities have significantly refined her technical skills and artistic interpretation.

Her talent has been recognized in numerous competitions. She achieved 1st place in the XIII Concours Lyrique International “Bell’Arte” Young Talent category, 2nd place in the Inese Galante Competition for Young Opera Singers in 2024, and other notable accolades in international competitions in Latvia, Estonia, and Belgium.

Fluent in Latvian and English, with basic proficiency in Italian, Russian, and German, Elizabete’s linguistic abilities enhance her capacity to perform a wide repertoire. Her ultimate ambition is to establish herself as a distinguished coloratura soprano on the global opera stage, a dream she diligently pursues through her studies, performances, and unwavering commitment to her craft.
