Elizabeth is a Scottish mezzo-soprano with a masters degree in Historical Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she studied with Sarah Pring. She has performed with a number of London-based chamber groups, including the Dowland Works with Dame Emma Kirkby and sings in the newly formed Spinacino Consort, based in Scotland. She has studied at the Saluzzo Opera Academy with the Elizabeth Luxton Memorial scholarship and performed Nutrice, Arnalta and Famigliare III in a production of Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea. On her return to the UK she performed in the Spinacino Consorts programme Away Vain World, and this past summer performed in their concert, Decorum of Voice: Music for a Renaissance Princess. During her studies she has performed in many projects, including the Baroque opera scenes, where she has played Amor in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione Di Poppea, Oenone in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie, Tito in Cesti’s Il Tito and Arsemene in Handel’s Serse. She performed as part of the chorus of Gabriel with Alison Balsam in Saffron Hall and the Barbican Centre, in the Hampstead Chamber Choir’s Christmas concert as a soprano and alto soloist in Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and as a soprano soloist in Finzi’s In Terra Pax. She has performed in the Montrose choral society’s Big Sing as an alto soloist and is looking forward to performing as alto soloist in the Angus choral society’s performance of the Messiah.
