Ella de Jongh is a British soprano studying under Professor Janice Chapman on the Artist Masters course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She previously graduated with a First in Performance from Royal Holloway in 2013 and has participated in masterclasses with Susan Bullock, Rudolph Piernay, Lillian Watson, Robin Bowman, Elaine Kidd and Roderick Williams.
Recent notable engagements include performing at the Barbican Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle in the UK Premiere of Andrew Norman's newly commissioned opera A Trip to the Moon. Operatic roles include The Witch (Hansel und Gretel) and First Lady (The Magic Flute). Scenes roles include Elizabeth 1st (Gloriana), Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier) and Lady Billows (Albert Herring). As an oratorio soloist, concerts include Mendelssohn 'Elijah', Mozart 'Requiem', Vivaldi 'Gloria' and 'Magnificat', Bach 'Magnificat', Tippett 'A Child of Our Time', Handel 'Messiah'. Ella recorded a number of CD’s with Faber & Faber, as part of the national Sing Up! campaign and appeared in a commercial for Apple under award winning Marketing and Advertising director Ian Thatcher.
