Emma was born in the North East of England but grew up mostly in Wales. After joining the church choir aged 6 she never looked back. Now an experienced soloist in opera, oratorio and recital, she is based in London where she studies with Paula Anglin.
Operatic roles include Phyllis (Iolanthe) and Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) for Athenaeum Opera; Ortlinde (Die Walküre) for Weekend Opera Workshops; Micaela (Carmen) for Lambeth Orchestra; Alice (Falstaff) for Lambeth Orchestra; Tonina (Prima la musica e poi le parole) for Opera Project / West Green House Opera; Woglinde (Das Rheingold & Götterdämmerung) and Woodbird (Siegfried) for Fulham Opera; Musetta (La Boheme) for Opera at Bearwood and Plaintiff (Trial by Jury) for WEOS.
Emma has appeared as an oratorio soloist with Opera North (Leeds Fuse Festival); the Hallé Choir (Bridgewater Hall); Chester Music Society/Liverpool Sinfonia; Leicester Bach Choir and the RNCM’s Baroque and String Ensembles and Wind Orchestra as well as giving recitals in London, France and Wales. Repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah & Samson; Mozart Mass in C Minor & Requiem; Mendelssohn St Paul; Haydn’s Nelson Mass & Creation; Rutter Gloria & Requiem; Beethoven’s Mass in C and Bach’s St John & St Matthew Passions.
