Mezzo soprano Emma Watkinson studied at City University, TrinityLaban and The Flanders Opera Studio in Belgium. In 2015 Emma made her English Touring Opera debut singing the role of Marcella in The Wild Man of the West Indies under Jeremy Silver . In the same year she sang Jean Le Portrait de Manon and Aurore Koanga both at Wexford Festival Opera. Other operatic highlights include The Page Salome WFO; Poppet Paul Bunyan and cover Helen of Troy both at ETO; the title role in Julie by Philippe Boesmans at the Flanders Opera Studio; Nancy Albert Herring under Steuart Bedford and the title role in Giustino with Olivia Fuchs at Blackheath Halls. Other roles include Dido Dido & Aeneas, Ino Semele, Cherubino Le Nozze di Figaro and Olga Eugene Onegin. Emma has also worked with Opera Australia, Grange Park Opera, Pavilion Opera and Longborough Festival Opera. This summer Emma will cover Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi for Buxton Festival.
