EMMANUEL FRANCO - BARITONE
Mexican baritone Emmanuel Franco has been celebrated as a young complete artist, with outstanding acting skills and a splendid and bright baritone voice.
Emmanuel began his 2015-16 season, as part of the Opéra Studio from Opéra National du Rhin performing the roles of Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Paisiello), Le Fou in Cendrillon, Gran Sacerdote in Idomeneo, Alphonse XI in La Favorite, Slook in La Cambiale di Matrimonio, conducted by Maestro Antonino Fogliani, and one of the Deputati in Don Carlo with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg under the baton of Maestro Daniele Callegari.
Upcoming performances in this 2016-17 season, will include the roles of Bruschino-Padre in Il Signor Bruschino, der Zweiter Nazarener in Salome, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte with Opéra National du Rhin, and Parmenione in L’Ocassione fa il ladro with Tijuana Opera and the Orquesta de Baja California in Mexico.
During past seasons, some career highlights on different stages in Europe have included Il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro with National Jeugd Orkest conducted by Maestro Richard Egarr, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with Residentie Orkest conducted by Antony Hermus, Junius and Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia with the Opera Studio Nederland and Andrea Coclé in Die Stumme Serenade with the Dutch National Opera Academy.
Emmanuel also portrayed Belcore in L’Elisir d’Amore, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly and Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini), with Tijuana Opera.
In Mexico City he covered the roles of Don Parmenione in L’Ocassione fa il ladro, and Germano in La Scala di Seta with ProOpera.
He performed Ping in Turandot and Manuel in La Vida Breve in the United States with West Bay Opera. He also sang the roles of Jupiter in Orphée aux enfers and the title role of Gianni Schicchi with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Opera Theater.
Concert highlights have included works like Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with the Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Chihuahua conducted by Armando Pesqueira, and Carmina Burana with the San Francisco Conservatory Orchestra conducted by Vance George, and Misa Tango with Stichting Corda Vocale.
Born in Tijuana, Mexico, Emmanuel received his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and his Master’s degree in Opera and Concert Performance from the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam.
Emmanuel was one of the quarter finalists in 2016 OPERALIA Competition in Guadalajara, Mexico.
