Esme Bronwen-Smith has just completed her undergraduate degree in music at Royal Holloway University of London and is currently enrolled in the City Lit Opera School.
She began her vocal studies at school before being accepted into the junior department of Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has continued to pursue her passion throughout her degree with the instruction of Colin Baldy as her teacher and attending his summer schools in Scheggino, Italy.
She made her first major appearance as a soprano soloist in the London Olympic Opening Ceremony in 2012 and has continued on to perform publicly as a soloist in Oratorios by Bach (St John’s Passion), and Handel (The Messiah) with great acclaim. Her performances with orchestra include works by Finzi (Dies Natalis), most recently, Mahler (Symphony No. 4 fourth mov.) and a range of roles from opera; such as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Cleopatra (Guilio Cesare) and Ellen (Peter Grimes). She hopes to continue her studies into a postgraduate degree and form a career in performance.
