Eduard was born on November 28, 1997, into a musical family. His father was the first violinist at the National Hungarian Opera of Cluj-Napoca, and his mother a soprano soloist at the Romanian National Opera in the same city. Surrounded by music, Eduard was driven from an early age to pursue a professional career in opera.

Eduard began his musical journey by studying piano for 12 years at the “Sigismund Toduță” Music High School. After graduating, he was admitted to the “Gheorghe Dima” National Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, where he studied both piano and voice. He completed his vocal studies in 2021, earning his undergraduate degree, followed by a master’s degree in 2023, graduating with top honors. His talent in both piano and voice earned him several scholarships and awards, such as the 1st Prize at the National Piano Competition “Tinere Talente” in 2013 and other accolades.

Eduard’s operatic debut came in 2021 at the Romanian National Opera of Cluj-Napoca, where he performed Belcore’s aria from Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. In the same year, he began to accumulate international recognition by winning the Absolute 1st Prize at the “Danubia Talents International Competition” and the 3rd Prize at the “London Classical Music Competition” (singing section).

His success continued in 2022, winning the 1st Prize at the Basel International Vocal Competition and 2nd Prize at the “Luigi Cerritelli” Music Competition. He was awarded the Prix du Jeune Espoir at the Grand Prix de la Voix in the same year, setting the stage for his future career. During this period, he performed in numerous concerts and recitals across Europe, including performances at the Nice Opera and the Municipal Theater of Suceava.

From 2022 to 2024, Eduard participated in the Young Artist Programme at the Centre d’Art Lyrique de la Méditerranée in Nice, where he developed his singing skills under the mentorship of esteemed vocal coaches. His time in Nice led to engagements in significant productions, such as Les fantômes de l’opéra and Concert Tribute to Napoleon III at the Opera de Nice.

In 2022, Eduard won the 3rd Prize at the Concours International du Chant Lyrique Les Amis du Belcanto and began performing on international stages. He was selected for the National Opera Academy of Bordeaux (2022-2023) and the Monte-Carlo Opera Academy (2023-2024). His debut as Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at the Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux marked a major milestone in his career.

In 2023, Eduard continued to expand his repertoire, performing in Carmen Al Andaluz as Dancaïre, and debuting roles such as L’Horloge Comtoise and Le Chat in L’enfant et les sortilèges at the Monte-Carlo Opera. His role as Sindbad in Howard Moody’s Sindbad at the Opera de Nice further showcased his versatility.

For the 2024-2025 season, Eduard is set to perform as Dancaïre, Ajax 2 in La Belle Hélène, and Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, further cementing his reputation as a rising star in the opera world. His training continues, and he is preparing new roles such as Marcello in La Bohème and Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro.

Looking ahead to 2025, Eduard will join the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, marking an important step in his professional development. In addition to his operatic training, he will perform in several concerts and recitals, including the Concert Carte Blanche at the Opera Lorraine, Opéra du Rhin, Théâtre de la Sinne, and Théâtre Colmar, as well as Dîners sur scène at the Opéra du Rhin. His sung roles for the 2025–2026 season will include El Gallo in Harvey Schmidt’s Les Fantasticks (Théâtre Colmar, Théâtre de la Sinne, Opéra du Rhin), the Fifth Judge in Korngold’s Das Wunder der Heliane (Opéra du Rhin), and Director, Monsieur Presto, and the Son in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias. In June 2026, he will also appear in Soirée Sondheim – Music Theatre at the Comédie de Colmar and the Opéra National du Rhin.

Throughout his career, Eduard has collaborated with renowned artists such as Nelly Miricioiu and participated in masterclasses with prominent figures in the opera world. His passion and dedication have already brought him international recognition, and he continues to develop as one of the most promising talents of his generation.
