Freya studied at the University of York, where she achieved a 1st class hons degree in Music. She went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she achieved a Distinction for her MA and MMus in Vocal Performance. She regularly performs with the BBC Singers, London Voices, Ex Cathedra, RSVP Voices, Philharmonia Voices, the Hanover Band and the newly formed Chamber Choir of London.
Her career highlights so far include solos with Birmingham Opera Company in Stockhausen’s Mittwoch aus Licht directed by Graham Vick, singing on film soundtracks (including Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Beasts, The Hobbit and the Hunger Games series) and she has performed solo at the Wigmore Hall twice.
Her opera credits include: Hansel (Hansel and Gretal), Amastris (Xerxes), Dido and Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas), The Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Julia Bertram (Mansfield Park), Annina and Flora (La Traviata), Cherubino (Marriage of Figaro), 2nd Lady and 2nd Boy (Magic Flute), various roles (Suor Angelica) and Marc Antonio (Marc Antonio e Cleopatra). She also enjoys singing G&S and has played Hebe (HMS Pinafore), Pitti-Sing (Mikado), Edith (Pirates of Penzance) and Lady Angela (Patience) with Opera Anywhere for many years.
Most recently Freya has had the pleasure of performing Nuits d'Ete (Berlioz) and Sea Pictures (Elgar) with Solway Sinfonia of Scotland, and the Mezzo Soprano solos in Verdi’s Requiem at Ely Cathedral. She has also toured extensively with the BBC Singers, including to Norway, Scotland and Dubai, where she was part of the Dubai Proms series.
